Exodus 33:12-23
Wrote the verses to PROMISED LAND back in 2007 as I was re-reading the stories of Moses in the Old Testament and his many interactions with God throughout his life. I had a melody already set but the song was written as a slow acoustic ballad in a minor key, I wanted to change the verses and chorus to be happier and livelier. So, with guitar in hand, I came up with a new song while singing and playing a baritone guitar at a local music store. The guitar rhythm was perfect for the lyrics I had written previously. Definitely a match made in Heaven!
I love how the song turned out! I especially love the break where the electric guitar, piano, and Hammond B3 come to the forefront and allows my rock leanings to ooze out. The ending chorus and outro with Ethan's killer vocals and harmonies makes this song one of my favorites!....
