Acts 2:21
Started writing the music for Calling Your Name back in 1999 after re-watching The Blues Brothers movie from the late 70's on TV. Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin each had bit parts in the movie, and I got inspired after hearing them sing their bluesy Gospel R&B style of music we all love. Now, the lyrics were written about two years prior to the music, and it came to me through much prayer after a very difficult time in my life where my impatience really grabbed ahold of me, and I wished I could've just picked up a phone and called the Lord directly where He would pick up instantly and give me a quick answer to the problem I was dealing with, just so I didn't have to wait. Now, I look back on that time and I see that His timing was the perfect time because everything turned out better than I had expected, but what I also realized more importantly was that our time together each day in intimate prayer, was exactly what I needed all along...πβΊοΈππΌ
What a wonderful God I serve!...
